You Just Purchased New Hearing Devices...Now What?

The staff of Diles Hearing Centers values the trust you have placed in us and we will work to ensure the relationship you have with us is positive. In order to do so, we ask that you communicate any concerns or problems you are having with your devices, especially during the first 30 days after your purchase.

Once you have been fit with new hearing devices, we will make a follow-up appointment for you - usually one to two weeks after your devices are delivered. During this time, you will have an opportunity to wear your new devices in your own environment. This is the time to note if you are having any problems or if certain sounds are too soft or maybe even too loud. This will help the audiologist make adjustments at your follow-up appointment.

You normally do not need another follow-up or adjustment appointment. From this point forward, you can expect to see us about once every 3-6 months to have your devices cleaned and checked and to receive your next 3-month supply of free batteries.

Why do you need to come in every 3-6 months?

 We have found that by having your devices cleaned and checked regularly they will function better, last longer and continue to provide you with improved hearing. If there is a problem, we can address the issue and, if needed, send it into the manufacturer for repair under the initial one-year warranty.

Approximately 11 months after your purchase, we will notify you that your one-year warranty is about to expire. This is an important milestone for you and your devices. At your warranty check appointment we will, again, clean and check your hearing devices and offer you the opportunity to purchase an extended warranty for loss, damage and/or repair.


Naturally, there may be problems in between your 6-month check appointments. If you ever have problems or questions, we want you to contact us so we may work to resolve the issue. Often, it is just wax built up in the device and/or your ear canal decreasing your ability to hear well. Other times, it may require servicing by the manufacturer. In any event, we want to work with you to ensure your devices are working optimally and that you are hearing the best that you've heard in years.
